THE CADD SAFE DRIVER CONTRACT

A PROMISE FROM NEW DRIVERS

It’s got to be one of the most worrying times for any parent, relative or friend – your loved one has just passed their driving test and they are about to take the car out on their own for the very first time.

You will always be worried for their safety, but you may be more content if they promised you that they would always drive safely, and have proved it by signing a contract with you.

This is the intention of the SCARD / CADD Safe Driver Contract. It is a certificate to be signed by the driver and witnessed by someone who cares for them, and it contains ten key points to safe driving. By signing the contract, the new driver is promising you that they will always drive safely and within the law. It costs nothing, but it may just give you a little peace of mind when the big day comes.

But it's not only new drivers who can be in danger on the roads. Over 3,000 people are killed on Britain's roads every year, and over 30,000 seriously injured. However long you have been driving, you can help to set your loved-ones' minds at rest by signing the contract yourself. For the peace of mind of all those who care for you we would encourage you to sign the Safe Driver Contract and stick to its simple guidelines whenever you are on the road.

You can download a copy of the Safe Driver Contract by clicking the link. Just print it off and ask the driver to sign it, and then keep it in a safe place.
